Airscape 3.0 Whole House Fan
Details
THIS FAN HAS BEEN OUT OF PRODUCTION SINCE APRIL 2009
For homes up to 4500 sq. ft. the AirScape 3.0 delivers the high airflow required for larger homes while maintaining the low-noise profile that AirScape is famous for. In fact, this is both our most powerful AND or quietest unit. How is this possible? An exceptionally robust industrial-grade fan, isolated through a noise-deadening ducted design puts the 3.0 in a class all by itself. It’s more expensive to build, and requires a little more energy to run, but the performance—in terms of both airflow and noise—is truly exceptional. Plus, the 3.0 is low-speed-adjustable, straight-forward to install and comes with a hi-flow grill that minimizes noise and looks as unobtrusive as it sounds.

Out of Production-
There is talk going around that the 3.0 was infringing on a patent design by Quiet Cool.
Not sure if its true though-

Airscape 3.0 question
Do you know why this fan has been out of production? Was there a problem? The reason I ask is that we may not have the proper joist configuration to install the 4.5 and we fear that the 2.5 may not be powerful enough for our home.

Installation Review Batavia, Illinois
We just installed this fan for a customer in Batavia, Illinois.
We have installed a lot of fans.. to include the entire AirScape Line up of Whole House Fans.
This was our first AirScape 3.0 fan installation.
The product is constructed with good quality material. It is really well made!
Installation took 2 installers approx 3.5 hours to install. We had to remove the existing electrical cord that comes with the unit pre-installed and replace that with conduit and wire to meet the local electrical codes in this part of the country.
The unit is very quiet! The tape that comes with the unit is great! We used it where the plenum and the shutter assembly come together to get an extra layer of air tight protection. One thing that is kind of surprising is that you have to cut the shutter in order for it to fit over the joist..That is the only disappointing thing about this product. The shutter assembly has a very cool cut out that will allow you to install it on 16 or 24 inch on-center joists! Why can't they make the shutter cover do the same? We tested the unit throughout the house in various rooms and noticed that the fan performed well. When we went upstairs to give operating instructions to the customer, we noticed that the fan was on low speed. The fan's performance worked great on low and functioned exceptionally on high.
