An exceptionally robust industrial-grade fan, isolated through a noise-deadening ducted design puts the 2.5 in a class all by itself. It's more expensive to build, and requires a little more energy to run than the 1.7, but the performance -- in terms of both airflow and noise -- is truly exceptional.
